It had been a long day, hell to be honest it had been a long week. What with meeting various digi destined throughout the digital world, and meeting that faker than fake Pandora worker in the Gear Savannah, that still reminded Suichi of the damn Sahara Dessert, not to mention his studies and various test, hey just because he was a digi destined didn’t mean he could shirk off his school responsibilities, it was about time that Suichi did something for himself, and for little Poromon, who was also exhausted with everything they had been doing in the past week. The two not only needed a break from everything, but they deserved it as well. They worked pretty hard this week to learn and grow together as team, and hey little porurumon digivovled into awesome Poromon, so if that didn’t just scream celebration of some type, Suichi didn’t know what did. So yes it was good that Suichi’s father had flaked at the last minute, a work related crisis or something like that, leaving poor Suichi to go to the concert all by himself.
Well ok not entirely by himself, now that his dad wasn’t going, Suichi could bring Poromon mon and wear him like a hat, something he did quite often, so he could attend the concert too. IT was going to be a pretty awesome night, he told himself, as he flashed a smile to a still semi sleepy Poromon, that now rested on the top of his head, drawing attention only from a few kids around his age, who mistook him, thankfully, for one of those manga inspired hats, the Otaku’s tended to wear during special conventions, which of course was exactly what Suichi was going for. No one suspected it was an actual digimon so that was good.
The concert was being held by a relatively popular, if only in a small way, pianist whom Suichi had heard, from his teachers, was actually pretty talented, so yeah he was actually excited to go hear the music and see the woman play. Making his way to the amphitheater, or whatever it was called, he was actually surprised to see so many people out and about around the entrance of the place. He didn’t think there would be so many people clammering to get their tickets to see this performer, but then again she was rumored to be good, so it really shouldn’t have.
Not letting the hordes of people bother him, as large crowds tended to do, Suichi tried to make his way into the actual place, making sure to flash his ticket whenever asked by the seemingly endless amounts of workers that seemed to be stationed at every freaking corner of this place. Still though eh couldn’t complain, he reminded himself, if it weren’t for them he would have gotten lost in this maze of a place trying to find his seat, and end up missing the entire concert, which would have just ruined his entire day!
Finally he was able to make it past the crows, past the maze like corridors, and find the proper inlet that would lead him towards his seat. True to his word, his dad didn’t crap out when buying the tickets. The man scored an excellent seat, not to close to the stage, as Suichi was proned to headaches after all, but not to far away either, so as the perform to appear as a speck on the stage. It was just right! He’d have to retail the whole even to his father detail by detail so he didn’t feel to bad about missing it.

The backstage halls wrere poorly treated, black in color and leaving little space between the wall and the curtains. Barely two people at a time could pass through these narrow paths, though often times nobody really had a choice but to pick this strangely convenient route to the other side of stage. The performer, a lady in the midst of her middle age, only just finished making her hair after makeup, aided by a very special helper in this isolated staff room that the person in question was granted special permission to get to in the first place. It was a pretty roomy place for a hidden door in a narrow path, and with all the mirrors and lights around -- especially now that nobody but these three were present -- kind of reminded of a star dresser room. The woman liked that quite much.
"Okaa-san, is it to your liking? I did my best."
The boy was dressed in the rare formal attire he had for cases like these specifically, doing properly his hair and removing the silly accessories he usually boasts, those silly accessories that almost seem to alter his personality; those were, precisely, his known Inumimi and Shippou, his two first independently bought items concerning his hobby. Currently, he and his small partner were occupied backstage, aiding the performer in looking her best in honor of this show, something that usually wouldn't be possible but this time allowed only because Kaiki in truth was Fuuko's son; therefore, he was allowed behind curtains. It is also for this reason that he came all dressed up, even adding a small accessory for his Digimon partner -- a red ribbon neatly tied in a butterfly tie on top of her head.
"It looks great! But you really should get to your seat, we're almost up."
Uncomfortably, the mother had to tell her son to leave, though considering the concert was about to start perhaps it was best that Kaiki left his mother to be, prepare for her performance calmly. He thanked her and called Nami -- his Lunamon -- that spent most of the time in the room staring at herself in the mirror in honor of this new, perfect ribbon. Politely, the little rabbit turned to the woman before exiting, bowing at her and giving her best wishes, much to Fuuko's delight. This Digimon, Nami, she was raised basically by Kaiki; the fact she was acting politely and respectfully definitely meant something about the 'parent'.

Waiting until the last moment, to find yourself, was not only a sign of disrespect , in Suichi’s book anyways, to the artist but to the few who are actually trying to enjoy the concert. As of yet Suichi noticed that there were a few empty seats to either one of his sides, and a few of them in the row in front of him. With all the people he saw clamoring to enter the concert, Suichi couldn’t image this place being anything other than jam packed.
He counted at least 100 people on his way over here, this concert couldn’t of fit more than that, so yes he was sure that each and eveyr one of these damned seats should, and eventually would, have a person seated in them. He just assumed most of them would arrive during the opening overture with their greasy snacks, hefting their behemoth sized bodies across the isles obscuring Suichi’s, and most likely everyone else’s, view of the damn concert, and of course that shouldn’t matter at all, but it was just the principal of things.
If you were coming here to enjoy the concert and listen to the musicians play, the least you could do was find your damn seat before they even opened the curtain. A sigh escaped Suichi’s lips, as he felt Pororomon flap the sides of his face, probably trying to calm him down. It still astonished Suichi just how well Poromon had gotten to know him in such a short amount of time. It truly was as if this little guy knew him for his entire life. The thought, though eerie in origin, somehow calmed the fiery red head and actually brought a tender smile to his face. It was good to know that he had someone looking out for him, someone who had his back.
Finally the lights dimmed, but only slightly, a clear sign that the concert was going to start soon. Probably in about 15 minutes, he silently told himself, as his eyes darted upwards to Poromon, checking in his tiny friend, who actually seemed quite comfortable nestled on top of his hair. It was good to know that all his hair had some practical use, other than looking asthetically pleasing, it seemed to double well as a damn bed, and while Suichi honestly didn’t intend his head to be a natural resting spot of his avian digimon, he found himself not entirely caring that it was. After all this night out was suppose to be, in part anyways, a way of congratulating and thanking his digimon for digivolving in the fight and protecting him from that psycho guilmon and the even more psycho tamer of hers!

Scurrying quickly with his Digimon behind him, Kaiki's name tag revealing his name to everybody backstage and his occupation -- reason for being behind curtains allowed him to pass right next to every other worker behind without getting too much complaints about being found in such a place despite the fact he - today, at least - had nothing to look for back here. Lunamon walked in quite the fast pace, seeing as how her short legs below the dress-like skin couldn't quite keep up perfectly with her master's quick pace and longer legs. He knew he was somehow straining his Digimon, but also kept in mind that the least he could do is hurry up before the concert starts, and Nami knew all too well that this was an important day for Kaiki and therefore simply endured the loss of stamina, even if she started minorly panting in this fast walking pace. The funny thing about all that though, would be the question she gave off and the comment right after, despite knowing saying that and telling the boy she's exhausted or strained is simply the same thing.
"K-sama, how long will it take for the concert to start-desuka?"
"About five minutes, I'd say. We don't have much time, so let's hu-"
"... I need to go to the bathroom-desu."
He stopped immediately, his little Digimon partner tackling his legs all of the sudden in the sudden halt and falling backwards quite clumsily with a squeal. He turned back to her with a clearly questioning face, not really believing she just said that. So now they would have to wait another three minutes until Nami finishes her business in the toilet, meanwhile Kaiki would buy drinks, but that still leaves them with a one or two minute delay before they enter the auditorium. Fuuko's concert will start by then... Drat. But, Nami probably wouldn't be able to hold it in... Double drat. He sighed as he picked up a faster pace, taking his Lunamon to the ladies' restroom while he buys two juice glasses.
Miraculously, the concert had not started all that while.
Kaiki found himself running towards the main hall with Nami held in his hands as Fuuko made her appearance, yet not starting the concert despite her seat by the piano was taken. What was she waiting for exactly? The door opened to reveal the silently panting boy and his Digimon held in his hands, and that was when Fuuko smiled at him. Kaiki returned her a grin as he made his way through the already-seated ones towards his empty seat, row D seat 16. It was next to some old lady on the left and some red-haired boy on the right. He calmly sat with a smile on his face, and then finally the concert started with the first piece.

The first set, of the concert that is, was marvelous. In truth Suichi couldn’t believe his ears, this woman was much better than what he had heard. She was definitely a talented musician, which made the young red haired boy wonder why she was playing in such a modicre setting? Someone with her talent, her surmised, should have been playing in large amphitheatres throughout Japan, if ont the world, she must of not had that great of a manager, if she had one at all that is.
Well despite whatever caused the musician to have to play in this run down place, he was happy that she was here, otherwise he might not have had the good fortune to ever be here to witness her talent. A smile spread itself across Suichi’s thin lips, as he tried to ignore the annoyance at the young man beside him who had the audacity to just barely make it before she started playing. It was rude to have waited this long ot show up, and what made it even worse was that the kid, whoever he was, actually had a digimon.
Even worse he wasn’t ashamed of having it or hiding it, like Suichi was his. Which of course meant he was one of those kids who got their digimon from Pandora. That only served to urk Suichi even more now, he needed to calm himself, what was wrong with him lately that his anger was getting the beter of him. Until recently, around the time he became a digi destined, Suichi was a generally calm and relaxed guy who was known for keeping his cool under preassure. Now a days though he seemed to get irritated by the littlest thing. Granted those little things usually had to do with the mistreatment of digimon, but hey it still counted right?
For a moment, a moment that flew on wings to fast for Suichi to really grasp, he thought that maybe this kid knew the lady he had met in the digital world. The crone like woman who worked for the damn Pandora company, the lady who had hinted at knowing that damn Mad Leomon, which was not a normal digimon by any standards, he wondered if the kid worked for her or worked with her. If he knew any way of getting in contact with her, but just as soon as the thought arose it faded all together from Suichi’s mind, replaced by the sweet soothing melodic tones of the musician’s music.
“Wonderful” Suichi said out loud in a voice barely above a whisper but was still clearly audible to the those around him. Granted he had meant to say that comment to his friend Hawk, but sadly the music had swept him away so thoroughly that he had honestly forgotten where he was, which was in a large concert room surrounded by others. “Her music is breath taking, though sad in its own way.” He said again more to himself this time than to anyone else.

Kaiki exceptionally enjoyed attending his mother's concerts, for more than just one reason. Besides the fact she was his mother and that made him feel somewhat proud that his relative was making such an impact upon others, it was her that taught him to play the piano and nowadays he was almost as good as she was -- able to catch on pieces in matters of two hours tops if not minutes, also thanks to his absolute hearing -- and even developed his own style using DJ sets. All he was learning, all he went through was at this very moment displayed in the form of a beautiful woman (partially styled by him too) and a stunning black piano. Besides that fact, there was also the fact this piece -- this specific piece -- was a foreign one, picked by Kaiki himself prior to the concert itself, taken from an actual Anime series but masked perfectly from the world using a completely normal-looking event with no ulterior motives whatsoever, giving a good starting theme that was sad, albeit soothing like no other. But the one thing Kaiki was most proud of was not that this was his mother there, nor his teacher, nor his previous stage, nor his selected set; it was that only recently, Fuuko was finally let out of the hospital, healthy once more, and could emerge in concerts once more, just like back in the day.
It made the boy happy in a way beyond what words could describe, if he was to try. He did not shed a tear though, he could not. His sensitive Digimon did that for him, a smile on her face. Was she just touched by the music, or did the story behind Fuuko's illness come to her mind? The answer was unknown.
The boy to his left suddenly spoke, with what was supposed to not be heard normally, though Kaiki managed to pick up his words and faint tone thanks to his special talent. He praised the pianist's skills and method of bringing the art to the crowd, much to the boy's delight. He looked at him with a smile; he wasn't the only person that thought that way, but a few details were missing. Silently enough as to not interrupt anybody, he then spoke. He could not afford to take away the attention of anybody listening to his mother, though this particular guy seemed a boy of high quality, worthy of conversing with either way.
"You're right." He started. "Though that theme is supposed to be sad. It brings faint hopes though, no?"
Soon, the piece ended, and the crowd emerged in loud claps. For 100 people, that was quite the respect shown -- the concert had barely started and someone amongst the crowd already whistled at her, somewhat disturbing the mauve-eyed boy but letting such slip. She was worthy of it, and even more. This brief stop of the repertoire and moment of appreciation was used as a chance for further words to be exchanged, if.
Though it soon stopped.

Before Suichi realized what he was doing he began to reply to what his comrade seated on the other side of him had said. If was rather amazing though that Suichi spoke, normally being in a large crowd like this, despite where they were, would have rendered him silent. He was after all a type of shy guy who couldn’t cope well in large groups, however the music itself was so captivating that he couldn’t help but feel released, if only momentarily, of any and all inhibitions that seemed to weigh him down. Without even turning to the young child, not wanting to miss the site of the artist playing her instrument, Suichi spoke in a low voice that though would not disturb those around him, could still be easily picked up by the boy seated next to him, and even his digimon if it tried to listen hard enough.
“With each drop there is a rise accompanying it only moments afterwards, I would assume nothing less than the meaning to be sorrowful but twinged with the promise of hope. I doubt anyone here, well not many anyways, can catch that. So I’m surprised that you picked it up. You must enjoy music like this.”
Ok so Suichi must have sounded like a bit of a douche but it wasn’t his fault, not really anyways, he couldn’t help the way he spoke. It was just the way he spoke, and the fact that he did sort of think he was a little bit better than others, for his high achievements and even higher grades, certainly didn’t help things at all. Still though it wasn’t his intent, this time, to sound superior or even snobbish to anyone. He was genuinely conversing with the young man, and was genuinely surprised that someone else was able to understand the hidden meaning to the song.
Poromon listened intently as well, he wasn’t quite captivated by the music like Suichi was, but he did enjoy it, even though music wasn’t really his thing. Growing up in the digital world music really wasn’t a good thing. The gekomon loved playing all the time, and they sounded just plain terrible. They were pretty tone deaf, so you think with listening to horrible music like that for a good chunk of his life, that Poromon would actually enjoy this concert, but honestly all he did was feel sleepy. The music seemed to have to much of a calming effect on the poor bird digimon. It was lulling him to sleep.
The song ended and many in the crowd, if not most, felt the need to arise from there seats and bathe the artist in cheers and clapping. Suichi however did ont, it was rude to interrupt the concert by doing so, but he still managed a smirk towards the artist, which was indeed a rare thing for the child to give out. He’d be sure to clap with all his might, towards the end of it, but for now he was content to sit back and just enjoy the darn concert.

It looks like this guy could easily appreciate music and analyze it quickly while still enjoying it, a trait Kaiki took a liking to immediately. This person seemed interesting enough, and perhaps they could converse later when the first part of the concert ends. For now though, the center of attention was most definitely Kaiki's mother there, starting her second piece and performing it as perfectly as expected of her by her son at least, and by those that were already present in her performances. Her grace was non-stopping, most likely catching the hearts of a few of the guys in the audience, something the boy had preferred ignoring but could not. The thought dwell in his mind momentarily, but soon as if disappeared over the sound of his mother's piano. To both relatives, music was a form of art and being a musician meant being an artist, thus pleasure should have been taken in such, and all details were to observed the way the creator -- or performer -- saw them, the challenge for every artist in the world. It looks like this boy was able to do just that, much to the witness' pleasure.
The piece soon ended, a new one following it of course. The gap in time between theme and theme was just enough for Kaiki to express himself in the face of his new music buddy. His appreciation was not yet used in the way he wanted to show it, though simply out of sheer utter respect for the artist on stage.
"Very much, actually. Nowadays most would pick the more modern, popular styles, but I generally enjoy great music. This is no exception, and the artist displays it almost perfectly in my opinion, even if she generally doesn't know the true nature of the piece itself. Mostly, I mean. I guess you could call that natural talent."
He was praising his own mother for the amazing skill she displayed, just in time before the third opus in the concert had begun. As he admitted, he enjoyed listening to his mother's music, and to him it was more meaningful than to others. Nami, whose ears weren't quite as developed (musically) as Kaiki's appeared to have just as much fun as her partner when it came to these sorts of things, though such was to be taken for granted: she was raised by him, she was exposed to the kind of music he enjoys, loves and learns. Even if today he was a different person for the sake of others, it was still the same old Kaiki speaking to the boy to the right, that much was clear only from his rather enthusiastic tone of speech -- in her hearing at least, few would trace the restrained excitement in his voice behind the politeness and calm nature he boasted.
And then it hit Nami, when she noticed something odd about the guy's hat. It wasn't really usual and smelled different from just cloth. She could almost swear she noticed it move. Her gaze only averted for a moment to look at this accompanying man, but she still managed to notice the slightest of twitches that hat seemed to independently show. It made her wonder if it was some sort of animal she wasn't familiar with - or better yet, a different Digimon. Nami wasn't raised in the Digital World like most Digimon, she was bought off Pandora legally by Kaiki's parents (the performer in-front taking part) and raised solely by this boy. She was not familiar with the regular world most would be, as she even hatched from her DigiEgg in the human world. She couldn't recognize Digimon on sight, but her instincts could still tingle every once in a while.
"(... Must be my imagination-desu.)"

“I honestly don’t believe in natural talent” Suichi remarked as the silence between songs over took the entire audience. “I believe in talent sure but music is just music unless you have some attachment to it. And it’s clear that she’s had some pretty low turns in her life, but was able to conquer them. Or at least that’s what I believe. Of course I’eve never even heard of this woman before today so I could be wrong.” He stated in a very factual voice as the second song was plaid.
The next piece was nice, if not a bit predictable, Grand Vase Brilliante was never one of Suichi’s favorite pieces, if only because it had been done to death, in his own opinion of course. What was even worse, to him, was that this piece did not, in any way, compliment the piece that went before it. Where the frist was soulfull and expressative this piece, in Suichi’s own opnion, didn’t really represent anything personal of the musician who was playing it. He felt a bit let down and suddenly found himself wondering if he had not preemptively judge her skills. No…, he told himself with an inward sigh, that wasn’t the case. It was obvious, to everyone here, that the musician, whoever she was, did have talent to spare, this was just a poor choice for her to have done in general, especially when it followed the piece before it
The first was a work of art that could bring down a behemoth monster with it’s soothing melody, this piece, what she was playing now, was just something for show. Or so Suichi reasoned with himself. She had talent sure, but she sucked at arranging music in proper order, perhaps time would help her with that. Then again, he thought as he tucked a few strands of his vibrant long red hair behind his ear, maybe time would help her get better at arranging her pieces better. With time, and age, came experience right? So it was highly possible that she would get better at placing her music in the order they should go best in. Still even Suichi, as disappointed as he was with this choice, had to admit she did play the song quite elegantly and without flaw.
Probably one of the best renditions of this song he had ever heard, but it still was something so over done he really couldn’t enjoy it, like the others seemed to enjoy it. All he could concentrate on was how much talent she ahd and how she should have chosen something a little bit more daring, still though there was about 1 hour maybe 2 left in the concert. She had more than enough time to show herself up and shut Suichi up at the same time, so there still was hope for the concert yet! Not so much for Poromon though, who Suichi could already tell was losing interest in the concert. So much for celebrating, he thought to himself with a sigh as he glanced upwards to make sure the bird digimon hadn’t passed out already. Lucky for him Poromon had taken a nap before coming here, baby digimon tended to sleep a lot, so he was to awake to pass out from boredom, at least for now. Suichi had to remember to try and make it up for Poromon later. This wasn’t so much a celebration as an obligation to the tiny bird digimon, so maybe after the concert he’d take him out for ice cream or something.
The boy’s digimon was takin a special interest in Suichi’s hat, and that was a problem. She couldn’t recognize, on sight anyways, that poromon was a digimon, which was a good thing. It kept his status a secret, but he wagered if she tried hard enough she’d eventually recognize that he was indeed a digimon.

The concert continued, and slowly the pieces seemed to take a somewhat interesting turn in feel. From the happy, energetic themes that started by the second opus, more and more the performer seemed to dish out sadder, or at least more mysterious ones gradually. The marking of the first part of the concert was the ninth opus per Fuuko's choice, a rarely stage performed modern classical that proved the choice in order to have a certain theme chosen prior to the show and already tested out on a different audience. Though the question as to why the two heartwarming, touching pieces were played first and second still remained in most of the crowd's heads -- but not in Kaiki's; he was part of choosing the repertoire, and could easily point out why it was made in such a way, sort of a witness that the concert in itself is based over a certain concept, an event that occurred in Fuuko Hinamori's life. He chuckled to himself as the last piece soon came to its end, and after a long run of applause the curtains closed as the lights turned on, the crowd then leaving.
Ten minutes after the break had started, and Kaiki had left backstage to find his mother and praise her, though there was another person he needed to converse with before the next part starts. He had a good twenty minutes before the artist returns to stage, and that time was going to be used quite specifically for a few tasks here and there. So far the concert had went great, and it appears the very high majority of the attendants were enjoying his mother's skills very much, something that made Kaiki proud of his mom even more, even with how hard it must be for her to performing after all this time once more.
"Ah-! There he is-desu!"
The high-pitch, sweet tone of the caring Digimon was heard slightly as a certain boy was sought out, then found by the short Lunamon. She paced quickly, surprisingly faster than her human partner. She didn't hesitate to pull slightly at the red-haired boy's pants, attempting to get his attention. She looked up at him, examining his every feature but still putting up a pure smile. Shortly, the other boy managed to catch up, holding two glasses of coke.
"Here, drink up. On me."
He said, handing the other one of the glasses. Regardless of the fact some people didn't even like coke, it was still quite addictive for him at least, and he immediately figured the guy would be a part of most of society, that is, willingly drinking such an insignificant and unhealthy drink. The guy caught his interest on the first piece, and their common taste in music had to be checked out.
"Enjoying the concert so far?"

Well if nothing else the concert was interesting. The venue in which the artist chose to prepare did seem to vary from her last selections, much better than the first set she did, so Suichi was indeed content so far. The melody was so harmonic and engaging he found that he could easily loose himself in the music. Granted he couldn’t do so to much, considering he had a rather snoopy bunny rabbit not more than two feet from him, that showed an over whelming interest in his hat, and as if that wasn’t bad enough poor Hawk, had already lost attention with the concert player and was slowly drifting off to sleep. Either out of boredom or as a side effect of the music Suichi couldn’t tell, not that it mattered. He was more concered with the fact of his hat suddenly making snoring noises and drawing even more attention to it than it had already drawn.
This sucked, he mentally remarked to himself as is eyes darted quickly over to the young man seated next to him and his digimon, then back to the concert itself. It sucked that he had to focus a portion of his attention on this guy and not getting caught. He came here, to the concert, in hopes of just having a damn good night, and now his night was ruined by one of those stupid Pandora kids, the ones Suichi tried to oppose in the digital world at every turn, deciding to sit right next to him.
He knew he couldn’t be mad at him for that, not like he really needed a reason to be mad at him at all, but it still ruined his night to some extent and he couldn’t help but feel a little aggravated by this. Well aggravated by this and torn, considering the fact that Suichi had actually begun to enjoy the guy’s company. He was smarter than the average person, which honestly wasn’t saying much but still, and he seemed to have a personal understanding of music that really spoke volumes to Suichi. So it was hard to find the anger he normally had to ahte one of those Pandora kids who were slowly ruining the digital world and more often than not abusing their digimon.
Although in all honesty one quick glance to his…Lunamon was it? Well one quick glance to his digimon was more than enough to show that he obviously treated his digimon with respect, so at least he had that going for him right? The curtains finally closed, much to suichi’s dismay as he was actually enjoying himself, and he was finally able to devote his attention to the man seated next to him, and thankfully Poromon had actually woken up from his half asleep daze. Things were definitely starting to look up, at least for now. Though they could easily get worse in a moments notice so letting his guard down was simply out of the question. So much for relaxing, he thought to himself with a grim smile.
Eventually the guy returned, he had left earlier in the break for one reason or another. When he did finally come back he took Suichi by even more surprise. The young guy, whatever his name, was offering him a drink. That was pretty kind of him, he thought. Much kinder than he would of given him credit for being. With tha tin mind Suichi took the drink with a solem nod and took a sip of it. While coke wasn’t one of his favorite drinks he could easily chug it down without any hesitation. Granted the notion of it being drugged did cross his mind, but quickly faded. There was no way this guy was going to try and drug him in such a crowded place, and even if he did, Poromon was here to keep an eye on him so he was sfe.
“I will admit I was a bit let down by her second choice. It being such a common piece that has been done before, however I am glad to say my expectations have been…well blown. She’s awesome and talented and knows how to make an arrangement. I’m glad I came theres much to learn about her, and I dare say we might be the witness of a rising star!” Suichi added with no hesitation. He was after all the type of guy who spoke his mind when he wanted to.
