Now, however, with the bandages and the scars that stretch from her wrist to her shoulder, she doesn't want to show the evidence of how she has failed and continues to fail, so she prefers long sleeves that come down all the way to her hands, sometimes ones that go all the way up to her thumb. She has light green hair that many would say is cropped rather messily, particularly with her bangs a good inch or two longer than the rest of her hair, and bright emerald eyes. She is rarely seen without a pair of aviator goggles buried in her hair or dangling around her neck, a relic of her mother's before the woman walked out on a much younger Hailey. She's also fond of her orange aviator's jacket, almost as if she's hoping that the clothing of those who fly will help her with her own fear of heights. She's a fan of combat boots or riding boots for her feet, even if the latter happens to be the commercial interpretation of them. She will often paint her nails some shade of green, though the polish often chips and cracks within a few days as she picks at it, and she has to remove the old polish and repaint her nails at least once a week to keep them from looking horrible. She has a few white lines on her legs and torso, all scars from self-inflicted injuries, though the majority of them litter her arms, covered by the bandages that sop up the blood of more recent wounds. The largest of her scars is actually a jagged one down her left side from her armpit to her hip, caused by a collision with a wire fence out on her family's ranch when she was five. - Quiet;; When in public, Hailey prefers to stay at the fringes of a room, not wanting to place herself in the spotlight, and although some might find it a little concerning that she doesn't want attention, this quality also makes her a great listener and allows her to be able to follow things a little more closely than others might.
- Dedicated;; Once Hailey has found someone to hold to and to give her trust to, she will not ever betray that person, viewing betrayal as the ultimate smudge to her honor, and that trait will lead her to fierce loyalty to the handful of people that she considers friend.
- Cautious;; Not the type of person to take risks or to go off on rash actions, Hailey usually considers every possibility before she makes her decision, rarely ever doing something on a whim, especially if that something is extremely dangerous, though this does not mean that she places a high value upon her own life, merely that of her partner Digimon's.
- Upstanding;; Hailey lives up to her obligations and her word, refusing to do anything to compromise her honor, and as such, breaking a promise or defaulting upon a debt is an impossible concept for her to understand, even if she has to work forever to uphold all of the obligations she has made to others.
- Honest;; If asked a question of some kind, no matter what it is, Hailey attempts to make it a policy not to lie to someone - she might not tell the whole truth if it's a matter she does not wish to disclose, but she will not tell an outright lie, even if it makes her look bad to disclose the truth.

[/u][/center]- Insecure;; After her mother walked out on the family, Hailey developed an eternal fear of abandonment that nothing could quite seem to quell, and even if she hides exactly how needy she is, she still can take hits to her self-esteem rather easily, which leads her to cut herself to try to make herself feel better from the flow of chemicals in her brain.
- Shy;; A direct result of some low self-esteem and shame with herself, Hailey doesn't really like to talk to people, and when she does, she does so in a quiet voice, careful to keep her distance just so the other person won't see how messed up she is inside.
- Pessimistic;; A perpetual downer because of some of the demons she faces with some depressive and suicidal tendencies, Hailey tends to look on the bad side of life, taking her cues from them and automatically assuming the worst will happen, if only so she will never be disappointed when it comes to happen.
- Introverted;; Even though she may be shy, Hailey actually doesn't really like people, preferring to spend her time with a small handful of friends whom she's comfortable with, though if asked, she would say that her favorite thing to do is actually to find a quiet corner and write.
- Blunt;; If Hailey feels a certain way about something, she will tell the truth, but she will usually say exactly what she thinks when she does choose to speak up, so it's not an uncommon occurrence for her to insult someone with her rather harsh words.
- Secretive;; Hailey likes being able to hoard her secrets away - it's not intended to be an insult to the people who care about her, really, she just doesn't like them knowing all the skeletons in her closet, even if said skeletons are more or less unimportant.

Hailey joined DigiDestined because once, when she was thirteen, she was almost crushed by a large piece of falling debris from a construction site she passed on her way walking home from school; a Digimon saved her, and in that moment she knew she wanted to try to protect as many Digimon as she could. Her partner Digimon is actually the Rookie form of the Digimon that saved her, her own personal tribute to the one who had allowed her to live. When she was seventeen, she attempted to commit suicide and was unsuccessful because her father happened to walk in while she was bleeding out. Her mother walked out on the family when she was six, and even though her father remarried when she was eight, the experience left lasting scars on her. She also has no family in Tokyo since it was her choice to move there after she turned nineteen, leaving the family ranch out in the lower South of the United States.
